Hi Everyone!
Our new school year is nearly upon us...which means it's the perfect time to lock in that field trip. There are only two Young People's Concert dates this season - so space is limited. The sooner you talk to administration...the sooner we can lock you in for one (or both!) of our exciting programs:
November 11, 2010 – 9:45 and 11:00
Take Me Out to the Orchestra
The orchestra is a team, and each instrument and musician plays an important role in creating a winning performance. Learn about each team member through performances of selections from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition and Copland's Rodeo. There’s no better way to show your students all of the parts of the symphony orchestra!
February 17, 2011 – 9:45 and 11:00
Science of Sound
In partnership with Imagination Station, we explore the instrument families and musical concepts like pitch and volume by uncovering the science behind them. Join us in a scientific experiment to dissect the orchestra through selections from Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite and Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite.
Tickets are still only $4 per student, and chaperones get in free. Introduce your students to the thrill of the orchestra by making your reservation for the 2010/2011 Young People’s Concerts by phone (419.418.0041) or email (sclark@toledosymphony.com) today! I look forward to hearing from you,
Sandra Clark
