Planetarium Details...

Here are a few of the details about the Planetarium trip... I will post more by Wednesday.

There will be two shows... the first one will be a live presentation about the sun and seasons the second one will be a multi-media show about stargazing (see below for the BGSU descriptions of the shows). Dale, the man running the planetarium at BGSU, said he recommends 1st through 5th grade but will tailor the show to our audience. He also suggested making sure that the kids know their directions (north, south, east, west) before coming.

The total cost for both shows is $2 per person (if you choose to only go to one show it will still be $2 per person). The first show will start promptly at 1:30, be followed by a stretch/bathroom break and the second show will conclude by 3:30 or 4. Please be aware that you will need to allow time for parking and that it costs $5 per car. On Monday November 1st I will e-mail out a list of who is coming so you can arrange your own carpool if you would like. Please let Rebekah Wing or Julie Morgan know if you would like to come and be sure to get your money to either of us by Thursday November 4th.

The seating capacity is 118 people so it is first come first serve :)

other things to note - no food, no cell phones, no flash photography, or flashing SHOES are allowed

The BGSU descriptions....
The sun and seasons - a lesson on how the sun moves across our sky in different seasons and why there are seasons. The sun's sky path at other latitudes is also shown in order to illustrate the midnight sun and the opposite seasons of the southern hemisphere. The lessons begins with an explanation of why the Sun shines.

amazing stargazing - a light-hearted and comprehensive guide to sky watching, covering constellations, the Sun the Moon , the planets, and other sights of the night sky (196 slides plus video, 35+ minutes)
